An EcoKit house is special due to multiple benefits provided by the construction system, benefits coming from one another to some degree.
Thus, the EcoKit ecological side comes from the fact that our construction materials are natural, noble, and environment-friendly. And that’s not all…
EcoKit means economic and efficient, therefore friendly to our pocket when it comes to pay gas and energy bills. We come again to the ecological side, since the low energy and gas consumption considerably reduces the negative impact over the environment. That’s only logical. Eco-Logical!
Our many years of experience show that most of the customers as the greatest benefit the savings resulting from very little expenses with heating and cooling, savings due to exceptional energetic performance of EcoKit houses.
A few technical details. Physics and mathematics
Enough talking, let’s see some figures… EcoKit uses ALL Energy programme to determine the energetic performance of each house built in our factory. All of our clients shall receive, with the key to their home, an Estimate Calculation of the Energetic Performance of the Building.
As an example, we chose one of our models to show you the details concerning the energetic performance. This house model meets CLASS A requirements, and the annual energy consumption for heating is, as shown in the table below, up to 5 times lower than for a traditional masonry house:
Minimum cost of heating energy |
RON/year |
Euro/year |
|
MINI house model (Usable area =44,62m²)1683,739 kWh/year, Bacau county |
Gas |
171,57 | 39,90 |
Power | 1054,02 |
245,12 |
|
Pellets | 353,59 |
82,23 |
The huge difference between low-consumption buildings or standard timber frame houses, and traditional concrete houses, it is clearly explained by the comparative analysis of KEEPLANT Thermal Engineering Office in Strasbourg, France:
|
Concrete | Standard Timber | Timber LCB** | Concrete/St. Ration | St/LCB Ration |
Gas | 495* | 108 | 65 | 0.22 |
0.60 |
Power | 2148 | 502 | 310 | 0.23 |
0.62 |
* All amounts stand for euro/year
**LCB = Low-Consumption Building
What exactly are the figures in the above table?
We took into account three types of building systems, as following:
CONCRETE – we considered a 20cm thick walls house, insulated by 10cm polystyrene on the inside and 15cm insulation on the ceiling; R wall = 2.7 m²K/W
STANDARD TIMBER – houses built according to our standard, 15cm structure and 32cm total thick walls ; R wall = 6.57 m²K/W
Low-Consumption TIMBER – houses with thicker walls, 22cm structure and 39cm total thick walls; R wall = 8.7 m²K/W
All amounts stand for heating costs of a 120sqm house, ground floor + full storey, and they are in euros/year. The reference climate area is Bacau County, Romania.
In conclusion, the heating costs for a timber frame house, even standard, are almost 5 times lower than for house built out of cold materials, such as concrete, prefabricated blocks, masonry. And without being 5 times more expensive!!
To put it in a nutshell, the savings made in the case of gas heating are of 387 euros/year, and in the case of power heating the savings are of 1646 euros/year!
